Dr. Dominick I. Golio received his Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Manhattan College and advanced degrees from Brown University and St. George’s University. He completed his primary surgical training at New York Medical College. He then completed additional fellowship training in Plastic Surgery (ASOPRS) at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery at University of Utah/Primary Children’s Medical Center, Craniofacial Foundation of Utah Program in Salt Lake City under the tutelage of world renowned Plastic Surgeon Louis Morales Jr. M.D.
Dr. Dominick Golio’s research interests include management of keloids, advancements in management of Pediatric and Adult Craniomaxillofacial Trauma, and Head and Neck Reconstructive Surgical Oncology. Dr. Dominick Golio is presently licensed to practice medicine in New York, New Jersey and Florida.
Dr. Dominick Golio was appointed adjunct professor of surgery for St. George’s University in April 2005 and Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery and Ophthalmology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center from 2006-2010. During his tenure, he was interim chief of Plastic Surgery in 2008 and he was the Director of Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery as well as the Chief of Oculoplastic Surgery Service. Dr. Golio is one of the few surgeons trained in both ophthalmology and Plastic Surgery. He has authored three text book chapters, several peer reviewed manuscripts and has lectured nationally and internationally in his specialty. He holds two US patents for the invention: Composition and Method of treating lipid encapsulated virus infections.
